This German Model 1941 ammo can is stamped "brc". Of course it has had the usual post war paint job and has storage marks after 68 years but it is certainly a usable ammo can with no big dents or repairs. All the leather finger cushions are present as well as the rubber top cover gasket. The latch works well, and besides a little cosmoline here and there the interior of the can looks great.

The 8mm belts are definitely Vets with some wear and tear after 69 years but they are in very solid usable shape. They are both dated "11.40" they have the clear Makers Marks "cvo" which from my reading of the Waffenamt code lists was the WWII German arms manufacturer Stocko Metallwarenfabriken, Wuppertal-Elberfeld. The ammo is inert, 1939 WWII dated, FMJ, brass case, Mil. Surplus head-stamped "PCH 39". A few have some age spots from rubbing together in the boxes but as you can see in the pictures not very noticeable. Its my understanding it is Greek military issue and matches the 1939 dated boxes it came in.
Germany invaded and occupied Greece in April 1941, Operation Marita, and no doubt vast quantities of captured Greek munitions were used to feed the German war machine. It was from Greece that the Germans launched their last large scale airborne invasion, Operation Mercury on May 20, 1941. Fallschirmjager re-enactors may find these belts helpful in recreating an impression from this period of the war.
